Spice Farm & Jozani Forest Full day tour

The Wild Heart of Zanzibar: A Sensory Journey through Spices and Secret Forests

Are you ready to trade the city streets for the lush, emerald landscapes of Zanzibar’s interior? We invite you to join us for a Full-Day Nature & Senses Expedition, a curated adventure that combines the fragrant wonders of our famous spice plantations with the wild, untamed beauty of the island’s only national park. This is a day designed for those who want to breathe in the pure essence of the tropics.

An Odyssey of Flavor in the Spice Gardens

Your morning begins with a deep immersion into the world that gave Zanzibar its nickname. This isn’t just a tour; it’s a sensory awakening.

  • The Path of Discovery: We take you on a gentle walking track through a verdant countryside filled with exotic trees and hidden herbs.
  • See, Smell, and Taste: You will discover the secrets of the earth as you experience everything from the fiery punch of a bird’s eye chili to the cooling, creamy texture of freshly harvested coconut flesh.
  • Tropical Abundance: Depending on the season, you will have the chance to savor mouth-watering fruits straight from the branch, including the massive jackfruit, sweet pineapples, and zesty green coconuts. Our guides will show you how these plants are used not just for food, but for traditional medicine and cosmetics.

Into the Emerald Canopy of Jozani Forest

After nourishing your senses, we journey to the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park. Spanning 50 square kilometers, this is the only national park on the island and a vital sanctuary for Zanzibar’s most famous residents.

  • The Rare Red Colobus: Keep your camera ready as we search for the Zanzibar Red Colobus monkey. This playful, charismatic species is endemic to our island, meaning you won’t find them anywhere else on the planet!
  • A Living Ecosystem: Wander through the ancient mahogany trees and mangroves, listening to the symphony of birds and insects that call this protected wilderness home.

The Zanzibar Butterfly Centre (ZBC)

To complete our nature immersion, we visit the Zanzibar Butterfly Centre in Pete Village. This inspiring community and environmental project is one of Africa’s largest butterfly exhibits. You will walk through an enclosed tropical garden where hundreds of indigenous butterflies—in every color imaginable—flutter around you. It’s a peaceful, magical experience that supports local conservation and sustainable livelihoods.
